ACT interclub meet is a great success

The ACT Interclub Meet on Sunday 14 June at Gungahlin Leisure Centre was a great success, thanks to the combined efforts of a large number of volunteers, from both the Molonglo Water Dragons and the Tuggeranong Vikings Clubs.

There is a lot of work that goes into putting on a meet, getting all the events organised, the swimmers on the blocks, times recorded and results published on the day.  Special thanks to Gary and Audrey Stutsel, Kade Burgess, Mary-Liz, Lenny and Sarah Partridge, John Collis, Marg Larkin, Alan Ford, Jodie Burke, Ann Reid, Geoff Llewellyn, John Oke, Mandy Coggins, Annette Britten, Harry Kaye, Leisa Cass and Shona Dittmar who worked solidly all afternoon, and many others who contributed.

Some swimmers surprised themselves and swam personal best times, others surprised themselves simply by overcoming their nerves and getting off the blocks in one albeit wobbly piece. Irrespective of the times swum, we all put in a big effort and were sucking in the big ones at the end. We got to know some new swimmers from the Ginninderra Club, and there was a great turnout for dinner with the Vikings at the Canberra Raiders Club afterwards.

See the Top 10 swims at Interclub 14.06.15. These will be added to the Masters Swimming Australia Results Portal in due course.
